Summary

My support may be relevant for students facing the following issues: academic procrastination, inconsistent study momentum, difficulty balancing multiple responsibilities, uncertainty about degree or future direction, or regaining stability after emotionally disruptive experiences.

The engagement is intended as a supplementary structured resource, not tuition, counselling, or therapy. The goal is to offer students a non-judgmental external space to gain clarity, organize their thoughts, plan manageable next steps, and gradually strengthen independent planning skills, which may in turn support their academic functioning.

There is no formal commitment or school involvement needed.

Support structure

Pro-bono engagement may be offered to youths who would benefit from additional structured conversational support during periods of academic, personal, or transitional difficulty.

These sessions are provided virtually and entirely free of charge. Sessions are arranged only upon mutual agreement before the beginning of any sessions, with no financial obligation and no expectation of continued paid engagement thereafter.

To encourage consistency, accountability, and meaningful progress, participants are typically invited to commit to a short support package, for example, two sessions per month across four sessions.

This voluntary support is intended for youths who may benefit from having a calm external thinking partner to process challenges, regain clarity, and develop manageable next steps.

Suggested areas of engagement

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  1. Overcoming academic procrastination and inconsistent study momentum
  2. Balancing academic demands with personal responsibilities and commitments
  3. Managing multiple projects, assignments, or competing deadlines
  4. Navigating uncertainty in degree choices, career direction, or future planning
  5. Strengthening self-understanding, confidence, and independent decision-making
  6. Regaining stability after emotionally disruptive experiences such as friendship conflicts or breakups

How sessions may help

Depending on the youth’s situation and comfort level, sessions may support them in:

  • clarifying the underlying obstacles stemming from internal or external factors
  • identifying internal or practical blockers affecting progress
  • organizing thoughts into manageable priorities
  • designing action steps through the path of least resistance
  • increasing confidence in decision-making and handling uncertainty Sessions are conversational, adaptive, and solution-oriented in nature, drawing from reflective coaching, collaborative planning, and structured problem solving approaches.

Important boundaries

This engagement is intended as a supplementary developmental support tool, offering youths a non-judgmental, confidential, and solution-focused space for reflection and forward planning.

This engagement is not a substitute for clinical mental health treatment, school counselling intervention, or crisis management services, where such support is more appropriate.

Conversations with the youth will be treated as strictly confidential, including from teachers and family members, except in situations involving immediate risk of harm to self or others, where disclosure to the designated responsible adult may be necessary.

Session frequency, duration, and suitability will be discussed individually based on need and availability.
